Enjoy a convenient pickup from your hotel at 8am, then set off with a professional guide to visit two of the premiere archaeological sites in the Riviera Maya. First, discover the ruins of Coba, an former Mayan city lost in rain forest, which contains the tallest pyramid on the Yucatan Peninsula. Climb up Nohoch Muul for incredible panoramic views, then bicycle (or ride in a pedicab) through Coba as you learn the significance of the ancient temples and pyramids from your guide.

After Coba, visit the picturesque former city of Tulum, juxtaposed against the beautiful backdrop of the Caribbean's white-sand beaches. Stroll past the Temple of Murals and the ancient lighthouse, hearing from your guide about the importance of this archaeological site to the Maya culture.

Next, visit a Maya community and hear personal stories from the locals about their heritage. Gain insight into Maya history and traditions, and sit down for a buffet lunch of typical Mexican dishes. Before being dropped off at your hotel in the evening, enjoy the opportunity to swim in a cenote: a clear, cool, underground lake.
