Pick up

Our Chonburi course picks up from Bangkok or Pattaya and is situated approximately 1 hour from Pattaya and 1 hour 15 minutes from Bangkok. The course is inside Khao Kaeo Safari Park and on the borders of Chompoo Wildlife Reserve.

For our Chonburi location, we pick-up from Bangkok and Pattaya using air-conditioned minivans.

Bangkok

For Bangkok, the traffic is quite heavy so we have three set locations where we pick up from:

  • In front of Dusit Thani Hotel, Silom at 08.00 only
  • In front of Ariyasom Villa Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 1 at 06.30 or 09.30
  • At Khaosan Road – In front of Sawasdee Khaosan Inn at 06.00 or 09.00

** If you have a group of 4 people or more traveling from Bangkok we can send an extra van to pick you up from your hotel.

Pattaya

For Pattaya, we will pick you up from any hotel located within the borders of Pattaya City and drop you back at your hotel at the end of the adventure.

Our pick-up times for Pattaya are: 07.00, 09.30, 12.30

**All pick-up times for every location are approximate, depend on traffic and we also pick-up other guests as well if you have a small group. So please allow a 30 minute window for our drivers to get to you. We really appreciate your understanding as unfortunately this is not an exact science. Just relax, grab a coffee, and you will soon be on your way to the treetops.

Is It Safe?

At Flight of the Gibbon our mission is to provide fun-filled adventures and unforgettable memories. But there is one thing that we could not be more serious about; safety. The safety of our visitors and our staff is paramount. With safety in mind, our Zipline courses have been constructed by industry-leading international experts who have decades of experience in the field. Each Flight of the Gibbon location has been outfitted with top quality equipment manufactured in Europe, which has been rigorously tested to exceed all necessary international safety standards.

Flight of the Gibbon has some of the highest safety standards in Asia for Zipline courses. We use European safety equipment and our Sky Rangers have completed extensive training programs.

What Happens In Bad Weather?

Flight of the Gibbon is a great experience in all types of weather. The course remains open and it’s business as usual in most weather conditions. We will only stop during strong winds or thunderstorms.

How Big Is Each Zipline Group?

We have a maximum group size of 9 people per group to keep things a little more personal. Each group will have two instructors, or Sky Rangers as we like to call them. They are there to keep you safe and point out everything unique and interesting throughout your forest adventure.

There will always be one Sky Ranger to clip you onto the Zipline and send you to the next platform. A second Sky Ranger will always be waiting for you on the next platform to help you land safely and to secure you to the next safety cable. You will never clip or unclip yourself throughout the whole journey. Your Sky Rangers will do this for you and are responsible for your safety.

Do You Have Storage For Bags?

We have secure storage lockers available, free of charge, large enough to fit handbags, small backpacks and valuables. If your bag is too big for the locker you can store it in our office in view of our CCTV cameras, however Flight of the Gibbon is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings.

What if I'm Afraid Of Heights?

Don’t worry, most people are. Our Zipline courses are structured to ease you into the whole experience. Also, once you see our safety standards, procedures and equipment in action it will greatly put you at ease. Even people with a great fear of heights feel comfortable to continue soon after starting. We have many guests who have overcome their fear of heights with us.

Will I See Gibbons?

Our Chonburi Zipline course is located within Khao Kheow Safari Park and they have a gibbon exhibit with several gibbons that you will definitely see as part of your Flight of the Gibbon Zipline experience. You will also see troops of wild Macaques frolicking freely throughout the forest and the Safari Park.

Tips

  • Please remember you will be in a full body harness suspended high up above the ground, so dress appropriately but comfortably. We recommend sports shoes or other shoes that will not drop off easily. Please do not wear flip flops or wear unnecessary or dangling jewelry.
  • From November to March it is a little cold in Chiang Mai in the mornings (yes, it gets cold in Thailand), so please bring something to keep yourself warm until the day heats up.
  • From May to October it is the rainy season in Thailand so please bring a raincoat and/or a change of clothes (we sell rainwear onsite at reasonable prices). It doesn’t rain every day during the rainy season, but it’s good to be prepared.
  • Please bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent if you are sensitive. Generally, there are not many mosquitos, but it’s good to be prepared. Hats can be worn to and from the course however a helmet must be worn by every guest while on the course.
  • **We have a small shop on-site where you can purchase refreshments, ice creams, raincoats, souvenirs, etc.
